Midweek Dispatch: Gravitons Wanted

Opening Note#

We have a stubborn habit of mistaking a quick Google search for a master class. Learn one new thing and suddenly we are offering plumbers, mechanics, and anyone within range the kind of confident advice that makes real professionals sigh into their toolboxes. The truth is that every field has layers we will never see or fully understand, and most of us are lifelong amateurs in almost everything that matters. A wiser response to learning is humility rather than swagger, because every new bit of knowledge should remind us how much of the world remains unexplored and how small our part in it truly is. Now if you will excuse me, I am off to fix my toaster after watching a single YouTube video on the topic. I expect excellent results.

Midweek Dispatch: Fall Into Something New

Opening Note#

Welcome to the first entry in my blog. In the spirit of National Novel Writing Month, I felt the urge to write more, but I also knew I did not have a novel in me. After some reflection, I decided committing to regular posts here for a year was the write direction.1 So here we are. My goal is one to three entries a week, a modest but earnest attempt at consistency. I will try to be interesting, or at least not boring. I will likely fail.2 It’s always harder to wobble gracefully under observation, but I am glad you chose to come along for the ride.
